Raffle rehearsal · Exclusion across rounds

Does “exclude last selection” stop raffle repeats across rounds?

Published:

Not necessarily. Earlier winners can return. Rehearse three rounds and compare each result with the entire winner record before relying on a last-selection checkbox for cumulative exclusion.

On November 1, 2026, we tested RP Mini Tools’ Random Name Picker with invented entries Q01 Aster, Q02 Birch and Q03 Cedar. Animation was None (Instant); the input stayed unchanged. This was a browser rehearsal, not a prize drawing.

What did the checked option exclude?

Cedar remained in the input after winning. Our first request for one item selected Q03 Cedar. The returned page then offered an unchecked “Exclude last selection from this draw” checkbox. All three original entries were still visible; selecting Cedar had not removed its line from the displayed list.

The next result excluded Cedar. We checked the option, requested two items and pressed Pick Random. Round two displayed Q01 Aster and Q02 Birch. The returned checkbox was unchecked again. We had to check it for another request, rather than assume that its previous setting persisted.

Cedar returned in round three. We explicitly rechecked exclusion, requested one item and saved the checked-state screen before submitting. The result was Q03 Cedar, the label from round one. Excluding round two had not prevented this earlier winner from returning. This was a visible result, not an inference from the control's name.

Why does a two-round check miss this?

The first two results had no shared label. The third separated “different from the last selection” from “never selected earlier.” This record shows the former behavior in the tested sequence; it does not establish the site's internal implementation.

Rechecking exclusion and requesting two items again produced Q02 Birch then Q01 Aster. That follow-up remains in the record, not a separate discovery. Your first winner and later output order can differ.

What should you check before the actual draw?

Save each rehearsal result before the next request. Compare new selections with all earlier accepted winners under the rule agreed before the event. Recheck options that return unchecked. Choose a workflow that enforces the rule before accepting entries or awarding prizes.

Cumulative exclusion already exists: Allswap documents it until reset; Easypromos documents excluding winners and alternates in subsequent drawings. We read those descriptions without executing their services. This dated last-selection test does not invent no-repeat drawing or certify a tool.

Our separate candidate-versus-award guide checks ticket ownership within a candidate stream. Here every label is distinct; the question is exclusion across rounds. Our raffle number tool promises no ticket repeats within a batch and has no cross-batch winner history.

Download the synthetic input, transcribed results and replay instructions. The CSV records visible observations; it was not downloaded from the generator. No real entrants, accounts, payments or prizes were involved.

Observed rounds: one selects Cedar, two selects Aster and Birch, three selects Cedar again with last-selection exclusion explicitly checked.
Three distinct synthetic entries. Observed November 1, 2026; not a prize drawing.

The CSV is our transcription of the visible results, not a generator export. The local check reads saved files and sends no requests.
