      What fits your answer sheet?

Choose a topic and tone. Spaces count too. The character limit counts letters, spaces and punctuation. An optional label starts every candidate. Excluded text removes any candidate containing that text, without matching case.

No duplicates within a draw. Generate six or twelve candidates at a time. Draw again to see another selection; earlier names can return. Shortlist buttons keep up to three choices across draws. Changing any setting clears candidates, your shortlist and download links, so the files cannot silently keep an old brief.

Which knowledge theme fits your team?

This generator uses vocabulary and phrase structures written for this page. It combines them in your browser without an AI service. These are naming devices, not quiz questions or claims about your knowledge.

General knowledge uses Clue, Footnote, Wildcard, Margin, Guess and Pencil. We chose words connected to clues, written answers and uncertainty, so the names can work across a mixed quiz. Footnote Pending pairs a reference detail with an unfinished decision; it does not claim the team knows every answer.

Science uses Photon, Orbit, Beaker, Fossil, Quark and Neuron. Beaker in Pencil gives a laboratory image a provisional answer; Orbit Final Answer contrasts a space image with a firm submission. These are constructed examples, not surveyed favorites.

History uses Archive, Scroll, Chronicle, Relic, Timeline and Atlas. Archive Notes suggests checking a record. Mostly Timeline turns the subject into a deliberately uncertain identity. These words give a history cue without borrowing a person's identity or promising better recall.

Pop culture uses Encore, Reel, Chorus, Cameo, Mixtape and Credits. Cameo Pending pairs a brief appearance with waiting for an answer. The Chorus Desk turns a music word into an imagined quiz workspace. We use common creative vocabulary rather than celebrity names or quoted lyrics.

      What does tone change?

Witty uses Pending, Mostly, on a Hunch and Guesswork structures. Quiet uses Notes, Desk, in Pencil and Afterthought. Bold uses Final Answer, Verdict, Buzzer Crew and Recall Unit. Each topic has six words and each tone has four structures, producing twenty-four distinct combinations before label, length and exclusion filters.

      A constructed answer-sheet brief

For a synthetic science quiz brief, choose Science, Quiet and eighteen characters. Leave the label and exclusion empty. Beaker Notes has twelve characters, Beaker in Pencil has sixteen, and The Beaker Desk has fifteen, counting spaces. All fit. Beaker Afterthought has nineteen and is filtered out. These are reproducible candidate-pool examples; a random draw need not contain all three.

Adding Lab prefixes each phrase with Lab and a space. Lab Beaker in Pencil now has twenty characters and no longer fits the eighteen-character limit. Raise the limit to thirty or remove the label. Excluding beaker removes all candidates containing Beaker, including a label containing that same text.

Save the shortlist you intend to submit

Save your shortlist before reloading. Downloads contain only shortlisted names, in selection order. TXT keeps the displayed spelling. CSV uses Rank and Name columns, quotes names and adds an apostrophe to names starting with =, +, @ or - to avoid spreadsheet formula interpretation. Downloaded files keep their contents after edits; download a replacement shortlist yourself.

Can the host read your choice aloud?

Say the finalists, confirm spelling with your teammates, and check the event's naming requirements. This tool does not check existing use or reserve a name. It does not score humor or promise an unused phrase.

      Where do the names go?

Your label, excluded text, candidates and shortlist stay in this browser tab. Reloading clears them. They are not added to analytics or sharing URLs. The downloads are local files. This tool names a trivia team; use the separate team generator if you need to assign people to teams.

With an 18-character limit, Beaker in Pencil fits at 16 characters. Lab Beaker in Pencil has 20 and is excluded.
