Recovering teams after refresh? Check which draw returned

Published:

Compare the restored roster and team memberships with the draw you accepted. A page returning results after refresh does not establish that it recovered your earlier draw. In our two-tab test, the older tab still showed six people until refresh replaced them with the four-person draw made in the other tab. If an untouched tab still shows the right teams, save that version before refreshing it.

On October 31, 2026, we tested two tabs in the same browser at teamsgenerator.com's ordinary homepage address. Both lists were invented. We used two teams, no marked captains and no share link. This tested restoration, not a real event or storage internals.

What returned in the first tab?

Tab A generated six labels, V01 Aster through V06 Grove. Its first group contained V04 Elm, V06 Grove and V03 Cedar; its second contained V01 Aster, V05 Fern and V02 Birch.

The first refresh kept that draw. We downloaded the CSV, then refreshed A. The same six labels and both memberships returned. Opening the ordinary homepage in tab B also displayed that draw without another paste or Generate click.

What changed after using the second tab?

In B, we replaced the list with W01 Hazel, W02 Iris, W03 Juniper and W04 Larch, kept two teams and generated. Its groups were W01 with W04, and W03 with W02.

A still showed the original six-label roster and groups before refresh. The two pages displayed different draws.

A recovered the other draw after refresh. Its roster changed to B's four labels and its results to B's two pairs. Its new CSV contained four member rows; the previously downloaded file still contained the six V labels and their original assignments. The two saved files had no member labels in common. Both files accompany the screen records.

Is this the same as a saved history?

No history menu or cloud account was used in this test. It establishes only what these two tabs displayed in this session. It does not identify storage internals or establish behavior after clearing browser data or switching devices. Saving lists and saving accepted team assignments are different tasks; check which one your tool actually supports.

Other generators already document saved lists, cloud files or history. Our dated record concerns which draw returned after another tab changed it. The downloaded file retained the first assignments when the refreshed page displayed the second.

Which version should you use?

Check the activity's roster and team memberships against the accepted record. A familiar title or team count is insufficient. If they differ and no accepted record remains, do not describe a fresh random draw as recovery. Agree on a replacement explicitly. The replay instructions reproduce this controlled test; they do not retrieve lost data or guarantee identical random teams.

Observed sequence: tab A six-person draw; tab B generates a four-person draw; A still shows six until refresh, then shows B four. The first CSV retains six.
One synthetic two-tab observation, October 31, 2026. This describes the tested session, not every generator.

Original files and replay

The check reads these two local files. It does not recover browser data or send requests.
